Hunting & Wingshooting

Great hunting begins with great habitat. We have spent a decade painstakingly developing the finest South Carolina pine woods and broom straw. Fields of soy beans, corn, millet, and sorghum provide cover for dove, duck, deer and turkey. All of which are complimented by two natural Wood Duck holes and 99 acres of flooded corn impoundment areas.

Woodside’s secluded location and breathtaking scenery lends itself to long weekends with friends, corporate gatherings, and the kind of weddings dreams are made of. Allow us to take the guesswork out of planning your next event.

Fishing & Excursions

Woodside has two stocked ponds on property and fishing charters off Hilton Head Island.

Our charter boats access one of the most prolific fisheries on the Eastern seaboard. The diverse and rich estuaries in the Port Royal and Calibogue Sounds draw large numbers of Tarpon, Red Fish, Sea Trout, Cobia, Flounder, Sheepshead, Shark and other species.

Our magnificent Colonial Revival house built in the late 1800’s is situated at the end of a scenic oak-lined drive.

Mule-drawn wagons carrying fine bird dogs, hunting explosive early release and supplemented quail, traverse our courses.

If you've hunted Woodside, you know there aren't many comparable quail hunting experiences out there. We run a tight ship, ensuring each member is a good fit for our program and limiting the use of our courses to guarantee a memorable hunt. We strive to make the experience exceptional in all ways with safety at the top of the list, followed by great flying birds, a manicured field and outstanding dog work. The Woodside experience is enriched by a whole host of characters. From our trusty mounts to the chickens providing eggs for your breakfast, it's a collective effort. In addition to being a destination for the most experienced hunter, Woodside is a place where kids can run free and those who don't hunt can enjoy some peace and quiet for a few days. With an artesian pool, tee times down the street, clays to shoot, fish to catch, ATV's to ride, and miles of trails to bomb around on, it's fun for the whole family.

When Jack Cassidy bought Woodside Plantation about a decade ago, he founded the place on shooting sports. Jack competed in the NSCA AA class for 20 years - he shot a lot of trap and skeet, and hunted birds all over the world. During this time, Jack was also CEO of Cincinnati Bell and founded the @boomeresiasonfoundation Clay Shooting Competition, raising $10 million over 15 years for the benefit of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Cystic Fibrosis. It was the largest fundraiser ever held in shooting sports. These days, he's still a hell of a shot and loves any excuse to shoot clays over the pond at Woodside. But he can't remember what year they named him Clay Shooting Magazine's Shooting Sportsman of the Year. Doesn't matter, he says, the magazine isn't even around anymore - pull!
